‘M&N Uzal, 19th Century Excellence’ was the name of an
auction held in London on the 28th October.
In the words of the publicity, ‘The M & N Uzal gallery,
established by Marc and Nathalie Uzal in Brussels and Paris, has become
synonymous amongst discerning furniture collectors with pieces representing the
apogee of 19th century furniture making. They have assembled in their
galleries the very best of French 19th century furniture by some of the most
renowned furniture makers and bronziers of the 19th century such as Dasson,
Linke, Sormani, Beurdeley and Krieger amongst others. It is rare that such pieces, many of which
are of the quality exhibited at the Great Exhibitions (1851-1900), are
offered together in one sale.’ |
